Ann McKenna named College of Engineering dean

Ann F. McKenna, vice dean of strategic advancement at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University and professor of engineering in the Polytechnic School, has been named dean of the University of Iowa College of Engineering. She will begin on Aug. 16.

University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students have been named to the search committee for a new dean of the College of Engineering. Sara Sanders, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Jun Wang, the James E. Ashton Professor of Engineering and interim department executive officer of the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, were named co-chairs of the committee.
Harriet Nembhard named president of Harvey Mudd College

Harriet Nembhard, dean of the University of Iowa’s College of Engineering, has been named president of Harvey Mudd College, a liberal arts college specializing in science, engineering, and mathematics located in Claremont, California. She will begin on July 1. UI will conduct a national search for her replacement.
